IMC2014- Our Favorite December Projects & Ideas

December is coming and if you haven’t done it yet it’s seriously time to start thinking about all the pretty projects you can do this month! In the past years, both of us- me and Kasia-Antilight prepared lots of tutorials and inspiration posts for Christmas, and today, before jumping in with new ideas I want to share with you some of the old good projects from past editions of Inspire Me Christmas! 1.ADVENT CALENDARS It’s always more fun to countdown the days to Christmas with an advent calendar- isn’t it? We prepared some DIYs in the past and to be honest- we still love them!

1. KALENDARZ ADWENTOWY Odliczanie dni do Swiat zawsze uplywa przyjemniej w towarzystwie fajnego kalendarza adwentowego, prawda? Ponizej dwa moje ulubione kalendarze, ktore spokojnie mozecie przygotowac w domu!

2. THE GIFT OF TEA- I love coffee, but tea in winter is such a perfect drink! It’s a perfect gift too and I love these 2 creative ideas which Kasia shared in the past! I’m actually dreaming about some chai tea right now :)

3. CHRISTMAS CARDS There is definitely some magic in handmade cards for Christmas. I love making these for my closest friends and family; double win if they don’t consume too much of my time;) Here are 2 with step by step tutorials which you can whip up quickly and on budget.

4. CHRISTMAS PARTY Since we came to Istanbul every year we throw a small Christmas party for our friends. What started as few people gathering has grown in time to hosting around 20 of our friends so I decided to share with you my tips and collection of recipes for throwing epic Christmas Party– come on, if I could do it in Turkey you can do it too!

5. THOUGHTFUL GIFT Who doesn’t love the good DIY present idea? It shows our effort, it’s made with love and it helps us to save a bit of money. My favorite DIY from Kasia’s blog and great gift idea for your always-cold-friends- DIY handwarmers– I’m going to make a set for myself this year!

6. LET’S BE ORGANIZED We all can do with a bit more of organization in these few weeks before Christmas. It’s when to do lists get longer and ideas get flowing so this easy envelope DIY planner to collect all your notes, lists, recipes and other important things is a fun project to make during busy Christmas time!

7. CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENTS Why not make some of them by yourself? Preparing ornaments might be a lovely tradition which could include your kids or friends as well-these felt mushrooms are so cute- check tutorial on Kasia’s blog to find out how to make them by yourself!

8. HOME DECORATIONS I love homemade decorations scattered around the house and in time I’ve gathered quite a collection of those. One of my most beloved ones is this DIY home decor which every year I hang with a huge smile on my face- pompon wreath!

Warm Wishes- mixed media card for Christmas

 Hello and happy Tuesday! How is your Christmas cards production going? Well- embarassing to say about my situation, I should really keep going fast! If you are in similar situation or just want some beautiful inspiration make sure to follow Prima’s 12 days of Christmas Cards feature! My today’s card is showcasing some of Prima’s new PinWheel stencils and my msot beloved Color Bloom Sprays!

Hejo! Jak tam idzie Wasze swiateczne kartkowanie? Prawde mowiac u mnie jest mocno pod gorke- szewc bez butow chodzi i musze sie mocno sprezyc jesli chce wyrobic sie z kartkami na czas! Jesli tez potrzebujecie motywacji lub inspiracji koniecznie zajrzyjcie na bloga Primy gdzie znajdziecie cudna serie 12 days of Christmas Cards! Moja dzisiejsza kartka powstala z uzyciem szablonow Pin Wheel i moich ukochanych Color Bloom Sprays!

I used sprays and stencils to create some interesting layers on the background of my card.

Uzylam sprayi i szablonow aby dodac swojej kartce nieco warstw i uczynic tlo bardziej interesujacym.

I love how the colors of these sprays shine with the light- they are just gorgeous and perfect for holiday crafting!

Strasznie podoba mi sie to jak mocno primowe spraye mienia sie przy najmniejszym zlapaniu swiatla- cudowny efekt na swiatecznych pracach!

I was building layers of paper and binding them with layers of spray. Thanks to this trick the card is super shiny and dimensional- I love the effect!

Warstwy z papieru polaczylam niejako warstwami z rozpryskiwanej farby. Dzieki temu kartka jest nie tylko super blyszczaca, ale tez w pewnym sensie przestrzenna- uwielbiam ten efekt!

I finished my project with some stamps, flowers, chipboards and brads. The background like this doesn’t need much on top :)

Do wykonczenia projektu uzylam stempli, kwiatkow, tekturowych naklejek i bradsow. Nie potrzebowalam zbyt wiele, w koncu chcialam aby to tlo gralo pierwsze skrzypce!

I love all the layers of paper, paint, stamps and die cuts and it was so much fun to put it all together!

Co podoba mi sie w tej pracy najbardziej- spojnie polaczone warstwy, wycinane dodatki- naprawde swietnie bawilam sie przy tej pracy :)

Now I just need to make some time to write and send my card! I think next cards I’ll make will be much easier, but I love the layers of this one!

Teraz potrzeba mi tylko chwili z kubkiem goracej czekolady na wypisanie i wyslanie tej kartki! Cos mi sie wydaje, ze moje kolejne prace powinny byc duzo prostsze jesli mam sie wyronic z nimi przed swietami, ale co tam- te kartke uwielbiam :)

IMC2014 -December Daily inspiration and preparation

Hello! I want to talk a bit today about the Christmas Daily album and my approach to it this year! You know I’ve been doing this project for 4 years now and I love my albums to bits so I couldn’t be more excited to document December one more time:) This year I picked a cute golden album from WRMK and the small size- 10 x 10 cm looks super doable! I’ll be working with the Christmas Pocket Life kit from Citrus Twist but I’m sure I’ll throw in some more supplies from last years as well as from December kits which are just gorgeous!

Hej kochani! Dzisiaj przygotowalam kilka slow o moim Grudniowniku i planach jakie mam wzgledem niego w tym roku! Wkrecilam sie w to kreatywne dokumentowanie grudnia 4 lata temu i kocham te grudniowe albumy miloscia ogromna, tym bardziej ciesze sie, ze swiateczny czas juz blisko i pora zabrac sie za album nr 5! W tym roku bede pracowac z kitem z Citrus Twist Kits (ale na pewno dorzuce do niego to i owo z mojego swiatecznego pudla) i cudownym, zlotym albumikiem WRMK– jest malutki, ma tylko 10 cm co dla mnie oznacza, ze caly projekt ma wieksza szanse na pozytywne ukonczenie :)

I’m using the small papers included in the kit to fill the pockets as well as to add some extra pages in between. I love the red and white with a touch of green for Christmas- I love the traditional colors and really can’t get bored with them:)

Do malutkiego albumu swietnie sprawdzaja sie mniejsze formaty papierow- uzywam tych 15cm x 15cm zarowno do wypelniania kieszonek jak i do tworzenia dodatkowych kart- przegrodek pomiedzy foliowymi koszulkami. Co do kolorow- mi tradycyjny czerwony+bialy+zielony pasuja jak najbardziej, kocham te tradycyjne kombinacje i raczej w swieta mi sie nie znudza :)

I know for many people it’s confusing how to throw the traditional PL cards into album like this- I used them on bigger pages and as separators in my album and they work just great!

Sporo osob pytalo jak uzywac tradycyjnych kart do PL w tym kwadratowym maluchu i o ile nie zmieszcza sie one w najmniejsze kieszonki to w te 10×10 cm spokojnie mozna je wsunac. W niektorych kartach porobilam tez dziurki i wpielam je pomiedzy koszulkami jako graficzny przerywnik w albumie.

Here are some sneaks of my foundation pages. It’s first time I’m trying to make some pages before December- before I thought that I can’t work without photos but surprise surprise- I can and I enjoy it. Also I appreciate the fact that having premade pages will make my December work so much easier :)

Ponizej kilka stron bazowych, ktore juz sobie zawczasu przygotowalam. Po raz pierwszy podchodze do albumu w ten sposob, wczesniej zawsze szlam na zywiol i pracowalam spontanicznie w grudniu, jednak juz teraz czuje, ze te przygotowane strony beda mi na reke gdy wolny czas skurczy sie nagle przed swietami:)

Of course I’m leaving some space for extra embellishments, journaling, stickers, washi tapes and stamps! I’ll be still creative when I’m putting pictures inside but the big part of the job is already done!

Oczywiscie na grudzien zostawiam sobie przyjemnosc dodawania ekstra drobiazgow, naklejek, stempli i oczywiscie zdjec! Mam swoj margines kreatywnosci, ale fakt, ze wieksza czesc przygotowan albumu za mna bardzo mnie cieszy :)

I’ll be sharing my album here weekly. I don’t think I’ll be preparing daily pages I might go for just weekly wrap ups and summaries of Christmasy stuff we do but it hasn’t been decided in 100% yet :) Let’s see when December rolls! I’ll be also throwing a decent amount of sneak picks and ideas on Facebook fanpage so make sure to follow worqshop there as well!

Bridesmaid’s and bestmen’s gifts!

Has it seriously been a month since I posted here last time? Oups.. with 3 weeks left to the wedding and to do list which gets longer rather than shorter blogging fell somewhere to the bottom of my priorities list, also my creativity gets used in other places than my scrapbooking desk. Here is the proof- the gifts which we prepared for our dear friends when we asked them to become our bridesmaids and bestmen!

Zasluguje na kopa w pupe za te cisze, ktora tu panuje, ale 3 tygodnie do slubu a nasza lista rzeczy do zrobienia zamiast sie skracac magicznie sie wydluza:) Rece pelne roboty i blogowanie jest gdzies pod koniec listy moich priorytetow- wybaczcie:) Za to kreatywnosc znajduje ujscie we wszystkich przygotowaniach! Tutaj dowody- prezenty przygotowane dla naszych druhen i swiadkow na wieczor kiedy prosilismy ich aby stali przy nas w tym szczegolnym dniu:)

As you can imagine they all said YES! And yes we will have even number of guys and girls. And color palette. And much more cuteness! I’m really so excited about every second spend on preparation and making this day special so excuse me not being here! I’m working on having tons of photos to scrap after the wedding (and I know that it’ll be easy peasy as I have The Best Photographer in the World!)

Nietrudno sie domyslec ze wszysy sie zgodzili! No i mimo malej zmylki na zdjeciach bedziemy mieli rowna ilosc chlopakow i dziewczyn. I wszystko zgrane z naszymi kolorami. I w ogole bedzie ekstra! Kazda sekunda spedzona na przygotowaniach daje mi mase frajdy i radosci wiec wybaczcie ze nie ma mnie tutaj tyle ile powinno! Teraz sie szykuje, tak ze na jesieni bede miala setki fot do scrapowania (co do tego mam zero watpliwosci, w koncu mam Najfajniejszego Fotografa Na Swıecie!)

Valentine’s Day Coupons 2014!

You know that my post from 2 years ago when I shared printable coupons for Valentine’s Day is still the most popular on the blog? It’s such a simple idea- just print them, cut and give to your loved one so than he or she can use the coupons to get some little wishes done. Last year I shared a simple, blank version of the Valentine’s Day coupons where you can write your own wishes and playful ideas and this year I have for you mix of 2012 and 2013! Christmas Cards with PRIMA!

Hello and happy Monday!

Do you know that Christmas is more and more visible in Istanbul? We went to a shopping center on Saturday and when we left it in the evening we were amazed by all the lights and decorations- YES! this special time of the year is right behind the corner!

And here is my card made for day 5- it’s a frugal card challenge which means card should be cheap and in total you can’t spend on it more than $5- well I’ve made 4 cards for this money and just have a look- they don’t look cheap at all!

The process of making and layering a card is super easy and once you start you can make many cards in a short time! I think it’s a plus in busy time before Christmas :) Below you can see my step by step photo instructions how to put card like this together!

Like I mentioned before- from the same elements you can make a little card collection. This way you use up your scraps and make mess just once :D

DIY- Embroidery Hoop Wall Art

We are in really holiday mood here- week off from work means spending time together, enjoying our home, delicious coffee, lazy mornings.. it’s like weekend all over again and again! I’m also super happy to scrap a lot- in daylight, with lots of new stuff, I’m preparing content of my first class ever and it’s super fun! We also work on some DIY for the home- as I planned a while back :) Sticking to this topic I would like to share with you my first project made few weeks ago- DIY embroidery hoop scrapbooking layout!

Kilka słów o kompozycji dla Chic Tags

Hello! Yesterday it was my turn to publish on Chic Tags blog, and as we usually share tutorials on Tuesday I prepared a post about some composition rules. You can read it all on Chic Tags blog and I do hope you will find it useful and inspiring! in here I would like to show you layout which I made to illustrate the rules! It’s another one about my boyfriend’s birthday ;) I hope you are not bored haha but you know, he turned 30 and somehow we celebrated it … 4 times :) so there are quite a few photos from ”these” event.

Witajcie! Wczoraj przypadał mój dzień na blogu Chic Tags, a jako że we wtorki staramy się prezentować Wam tutoriale przygotowałam post o kilku prostych zasadach kompozycji. Znajdziecie go w całości na blogu Chic Tags i mam nadzieję, że będzie pomocny i pożyteczny:) a tutaj pokażę scrapa, którego zrobiłam aby zilustrować wspomniane zasady. To kolejna praca o urodzinach Faba, mam nadzieję, że nie jesteście jeszcze znudzeni:) ale jak na razie świętowaliśmy tę 30tkę 4 razy więc trochę zdjęć się nazbierało:)
