Istanbul, Sunday in the city- vlog

youtube thumbnail Istanbul_blogHi! It’s Friday and my weekend mode is switching on slowly (but for me weekend starts on Saturday afternoon so it’s still quite early for that). We used to spend weekend at home a lot but recently we’ve been pushing more to be outside, try new things, go to our favorite places again, enjoy the city as much as we can. Last weekend we visited the center, had some coffee, grabbed stuff from the sales, walked, talked, laughed. Super refreshing! Usually I’d share photos with you but this time I have something else:)
Hej kochani! Piatek, przed nami weekend i takie nastroje powoli mi sie wlaczaja (chociaz to troche falstart, bo moj weekend zaczyna sie w soboty po poludiu..).

From where to where

2010 2015

Last Thursday we pulled out our tripod, camera and camera controler and tried to recreate a picture we snapped 5 years ago. It was our first New Year’s Eve together. We were living in England. We were staying in tiny, packed room in the 3 bedroom flat shared with 2 more guys. We were staying at New Year’s Eve at home because we were with no money to go party outside :P But we were so happy. We had delicious dinner, we jumped on the sofa to the old songs, we took this picture above and at midnight we ran outside to see some fireworks. We had the best of times.

W zeszly czwartek wyciagnelismy statyw, aparat i pilot do zdjec i probowalismy odtworzyc zdjecie zrobione 5 lat temu. Zdjecie z pierwszego sylwestra spedzonego we dwoje. Mieszkalismy w Angli, w malenkim pokoju w mieszkaniu dzielonym z dwojka wspolokatorow. Mimo wszystko, bylismy mega szczesliwi. Zrobilismy obiad, skakaklismy na kanapie w rytm starych piosenek, zrobilismy to zdjecie, a o polnocy wybieglismy na dwor ogladac fajerwerki. Cudowne chwile, cudowne wspomnienia.  Continue reading

Week In Photos- Autumn yellows!

autumn

It’s our 4th autumn in Istanbul and I think it might be the prettiest one so far! It’s fairly warm, I see more and more yellow leaves around, I feel creative and motivated to do things! Discovering the coffee shops continues, making art continues, playing with fashion continues- we make this autumn happy! And the colors around help us to stay optimistic too- I love autumn yellows!

We said “I do” …

And I couldn’t dream this moment any better! Now we are back from our honeymoon, I’m sipping hot raspberry tea with honey, dreaming our autumn plans and can’t stop smiling to myself!

Kasia and Fab kiss

Our wedding photos were taken by super Magda Mizera and there is a video coming from Kasia Przybyt “Antilight”– couldn’t say thank you enough to these two! In the meantime I have some snapshots from honeymoon to share later this week.. have a lovely Sunday night!

Weekend in Alanya- some snapshots

Hi! When was last time you did something to jump off from your routine and schedules? Last weekend- despite full calendars and work overload we decided to escape to the South of Turkey for a short while. You might know Antalya and Alanya as they are the most popular touristic destinations in Turkey, but well we skipped huge hotels and souvenirs from the seaside and decided to stay with friends, enjoyed some places outside the city, loaded the batteries and on Sunday joined the Wings for Life race which took place in Alanya- it was an amazing experience! After weekend like this we are both hyper and super excited about another small trips and escapes which we plan for this summer! Here are some pictures!

Hej kochani! Jak minela Wam majowka? My na przekor przeladowanym kalendarzom i ogromnej ilosci pracy wyrwalismy sie na 2 dni do Antalyi i Alanyi! Pewnie wielu z Was kojarzy te miasta z ofert biur podrozy- to chyba najpopularniejsze kierunki wakacyjnych wyjazdow do Turcji :) My troche podsmiewalismy sie z pompastycznych hoteli szykujacych sie na otwarcie sezonu, spedzilismy swietny weekend ze znajomymi, odpoczelismy troche za miastem a w niedziele wzielismy udzial w biegu Wings for Life- niesamowite przezycie! Po takim weekendzie chodzimy naladowani pozytywna energia i juz planujemy kolejne male ucieczki w sina dal! A tutaj kilka zdjec!

2014 Week in Photos #5

Hello and welcome to wrap up of my week #5!

It’s been my best week so far this year! And it makes me excited to make the next one even BETTER!

2014 week 5

Last week on Sunday night I made a plan to wake up early and make most of my mornings- work on the blog, exercise, prepare a delicious breakfast- just enjoy these few hours. I wrote a little “start strong” note to myself and believe me or not- it kept me on track! It’s been the best, the most satisfying and productive week I’ve had recently :)

Have a lovely Sunday night and enjoy the next week!

Week in Photos 47

2013 week 47Day after day autumn is easier to be seen in Istanbul. It’s about time, don’t you think so? Still the weather is perfect for running, walks, taking photos and enjoying the time outside… I love seeing the colorful leaves around, wearing sweaters and wellingtones and sipping delicious coffee while enjoying Saturday afternoon with Fab… :)

HERE & NOW November

listening to more music on 8tracks… it’s my current to go music website. I can find here music for any mood and occasion and I love discovering new songs this way! Now playing

feeling obligated to appreciate all the little happy moments to balance the stress of busy, busy, busy days. I’ve been jotting down 3 things which made me happy during the day every evening and it feels like such a good and refreshing thing to do!

wanting to take a little break- one weekend when I can just do a sweet nothing or at least the things which I want to do not have to do :)

needing to get serious about all the Christmas preparation! Cards, presents and a little bit of new decorations for our home would be in order :)

thinking about how this month is our 5th year anniversary month, how many things have changed and how much we’ve grown in these years.

enjoying work (yes I do!) and having Fab at home for last few weeks. I love coming home and knowing that he is here.

learning a lot about attitude. About how to get the balance. I keep repeating myself that for sure what I do is important but so many little things and details freak me out too much- after all I do not save lifes and  I need to remind it myself every now and than. Things look different when you look at the big picture.

reading  Legimi! I’m almost done with my 3 books challenge for autumn and there are still so many books on my reading list! I love reading on my way to and from work, it makes Istanbul traffic much easier to survive and my brain magically switches from work to home mood on these journeys:)

using some new haircare stuff. I switched to lighter shampoos and my hair is so happy with this change.

looking forward to some quiet time.. and to Fab being back at home!

Week in Photos 38

Hello (and yes I can’t and I don’t want to think that it’s Sunday night already!)

Here are some photos and notes from last week:week38Last week we did lots of juggling- literally there was a lot PUSHING to get stuff done. I feel like the creative part of me finally agreed to this new work routine and I made some progress in actually having things done when I can make a bit of time- which usually means early mornings, lunch breaks and evenings. It feels good and finally over the weekend I got to sit down and make something just for fun! I see some light here :)

I’ve had some time this week to visit vintage shops in Istanbul- if you ever come here Çukurcuma is a place to go! So many gorgeous pieces! The weather has changed to the more autumn-like so morning coffee from Fab and hot drinks are must!

And today we went for a run! It was fun 6 km around the lake with beautiful forest around and the air fresh after rain! When I was running some other things, some stuff I hear a lot kept coming back to me and with every step I built my answer to it.

I also listened to some super inspiring speech on TED talks last night and it really made me thinking!

That’s it:) I hope your week was good and the new one will be even better! Huge hugs!
